Moosehead Lake is the largest body of water East of the Mississippi
within the confines of one state,
measuring approximately 40 miles long and 22 miles wide.
Inland Maine's only AAA Four Diamond, Mobil Four Star, and Johansen's North America Award of Excellence property.

It's a fact that more moose live in the North
Woods of Maine
than anywhere else in New England.
Blessed with so much raw beauty, the lushly forested region lured ardent naturalist Henry David Thoreau to trek its rugged terrain with a guide in 1857. He felt the same incredible frisson that guests get today when the vast inland ocean (22 miles wide X 40 miles long) bursts upon them........
| Guest Reviews I have been searching for a form of customer entertainment, that allowed my company the opportunity to get to know our customers a little better.....my search is over. ....a warm wonderful place for our birthday getaway. ....the beautiful room, wonderful dinner, attention to detail & genuine hospitality I catch myself often of daydreaming of Moosehead....what a wonderful inn. We have been to many small lodges and B&Bs and rate yours at the top of the list. Nice to know that Nirvana really does exist. .....The Lodge at Moosehead Lake is THE only place to go, when traveling to the real Maine. We made our second trip ever to a B&B ......it seems you have set our standards too high for others to attain. Its rough when you start at the top!!!! What we most appreciated was your hospitality and your willingness to always offer the "little extras" that mean so much( like the use of the pickup to get to Gulf Hagas) |
