Oxford, Maryland

Welcome to the Robert Morris Inn, one of the most relaxed destinations on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. We have waterfront rooms with private porches in our Sandaway Lodge, and historic rooms at the Main Inn.

The Robert Morris Inn was built as a home prior to 1710 by ship's carpenters. In 1740 an English trading company bought the house as a residence for Robert Morris, who represented the firm's shipping interests in Oxford. His son, Robert Morris, Jr., helped finance the Revolutionary War, numbered George Washington among his friends, and was a signer of the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, and the United States Constitution.

James A. Michener, author of "Chesapeake", rated the Robert Morris Inn's crab cakes the highest of any restaurant on the Eastern Shore.
