This structure in Galena, Illinois remains one of the Midwest's premier
examples of 19th-century commercial vernacular architecture.

The Farmers' Guest House in Galena, Illinois was built in 1867 and operated as a bakery, store and hotel. This handsome Italianate-style building in was a favorite overnight stop for area farmers bringing goods to market, as well as a gathering place for local folk.

Kathie and Jess Farlow welcome you to experience the delight, charm and romance of a by-gone era along with the conveniences of today.

Relax in one of our many sitting areas or soak in our backyard hot tub. We pay attention to the details, so you can enjoy your stay and make our house your home.

A friendly greeting and a comfortable country atmosphere is what you can expect when you stay at the Farmer's Guest House. You can relax and read in our Heritage Library, listen to music or watch a movie on surround TV in our living room and meet the other guests in the house at the bar, (which was briefly featured in the movie Field of Dreams) in our dining room during complimentary wine and cheese at 6:00pm. If you are the outdoor type, summer or winter, you can relax in our outdoor hot tub in the backyard.

Allow us to assist in customizing any special occasion with your choice of:
